The Ginger Avenger is an event created in loving memory of Colin Downie who fought a short but valiant battle with cancer. Colin was a metal head with a passion for Norse mythology, the Viking life with a low key comic book obsession. He was a kind, gentle soul who was wise beyond his years with a wicked sense of humour.  Colin had a way of making people feel important and valued. If he loved you once. He loved you always.

 The purpose of this event is to honour him in that and giving space to all metal heads, Vikings & Comic book lovers alike to come together and celebrate one of the greats.

This event started as a Halloween party held in Ingrams bar in 2024 and following the huge success in raising £1000 we could think of nothing better than going even bigger and better this year with hosting a full scale Music event where we hope to raise even more money though!

We are raising money for CHATS!

CHATS provides medical care and support for people with life limiting illnesses' it focusses on improving the quality of life for both patients and their families through the prevention and relief of symptoms and by the treatment of pain and related physical, psychosocial and spiritual problems. 

There is a day centre which provides a range of creative and complementary therapies, counselling, spiritual and well-being services. 

The Cowal hospice and supported care impatient unit provides symptom control, respite and end of life care in a calm and

comfortable environment.

What to expect?​

The Ginger Avenger metal weekend will host an indoor market from 10am-4pm 

we will have a whole host of spectacular small businesses & creators, please see the market section of the website to see a full list of vendors.

Band Merch will also be available during the market! 

​

Market entry is Free!

Ticket holders for the evening event are able to come and collect their wrist bands during the market to make for faster entry for the night.

Doors will open at 6pm for the live music event, we will have a small amount of exclusive stalls available during the evening event a long with a fully stocked bar! All that's left to do is pour one out ( Metaphorically) and enjoy the music!
